I’ve been a 1st AD on over a thousand commercials; full of cars, SFX, dance, fashion, intimate moments and hundreds of cast. I’ve enjoyed working with, and learning from, truly inspiring and talented Directors and Producers. Often collaborating on technically complex challenging work.

One of the main pleasures of working in our industry is achieving the vision of the Director by bringing a team to truly focus on the associated challenges. This is where I excel. As we all know it’s frequently extremely demanding and requires patience, faith, imagination and a deep deep well of tact and communication skills. It also requires tuning into the style of a Director and embracing it.

I like to think that Directors and Producers alike feel that I am on their side, and that our jobs become a shared endeavour, facilitated by clear and calm thought and dialogue. All of which should take place in a positive atmosphere, and where cast and crew are respected and cared for, wherever we find ourselves in the world.
